Key factors affecting students' suspension of school, drop-out, and deferred graduation

In recent years, the acceptance rate of college examination are constantly growing and it starts from 87% in 2004 and reaches 95% in 2014. The capacity of university is large enough to admit most people to have college education. Whether college students can graduate smoothly becomes a new issue to a university because it directly relates to the reputation and revenue of the university. Thus, this study wants to find key factors that can predict students’ suspension of school, drop-out, and deferred graduation. Logistic regression will be used to identify factors from three groups of variable, including students’ background before university, learning outcomes, class attributes and requirements. These key factors will help teachers differentiate struggled students. Suspension of school, drop-out, and deferred graduation of students can be decrease by providing early supports to these students.
