The role of finances on student learning outcomes

Student financial aid policies in Taiwanese higher education have been concerned not only with access but also with persistence until graduation (MOE, 2008). Though millions of student aid are spent each year, much of research to date on the effects of student learning outcomes is needed for further investigation. It is the context that this study responds to the emphasis of the Ministry of Education (2012) on the impact of finances for students in the pursuit of a college degree. This is the exploratory study that examines how the overall effectiveness of finances affect student learning outcomes after the first-year completion of college at Asia University.
